About this gallery: Our Founder and Hounon Amengansie Mama Zogbé (Mama Sagbé), transitioned in 2022. In our tradition, it is custom to follow the wishes of those whom have crossed into the realm of the Ancestors. Mama Sagbé requested that she be buried in Africa, and demanded that we do so for her. We have compiled here various memorial photos and ceremonies for your viewing and the sake of posterity. She loved her ancestors, followed their paths and did everything the Ancestors asked her to do. After completing her mission, she decided to take her rest in Africa, where she will greet those whom are granted the journey by their ancestors to learn her history and witness her legacy.
The world will forever be impacted by the choices and ultimate contributions Founder Hounon-Amengansie Mama Sagbé (Zogbé) has made for humanity. The Late Vivian Ovetta (Gartley) Hunter-Hindrew's legacy will forever be protected, preserved and upheld by all members of The Mami Wata Healers Society Temple of Mawu.
